Artist Emma Louise Moore Returns to Erith
Published: 9 April 2026
Bexley’s Placemaking team is collaborating with artist Emma Louise Moore to repurpose reclaimed granite from the Kensington and Chelsea embankment flood defence wall as part of the Tideway Project. These granite pieces are being reused at Riverside Gardens and Walnut Tree Road to form engaging features and seating areas.
Following the granite piece carved by Emma Louise Moore at the entrance to Riverside Gardens, three blocks have now been installed on Walnut Tree Road. These will be carved with ripple and wave motifs, extending the design language introduced at Riverside Gardens.
Over the coming weeks, Emma Louise Moore will be working at Walnut Tree Road and Riverside Gardens, carefully shaping the granite and bringing the pieces to life.
