Artist Emma Louise Moore comes to Riverside Gardens

As part of the final phase of works at Riverside Gardens, Bexley’s Placemaking team has been working closely with the contractor to re-purpose granite sets from Kensington and Chelsea embankment flood defence wall, re-using them in both Riverside Gardens and Walnut Tree Road to create playful features and additional seating.

The final piece is a columnar structure that will be carved by a skilled stonemason, Emma Louise Moore. The column will be shaped with wave and ripple patterns inspired by the estuarine forms seen along the local mudflats, offering a subtle reference to the site’s unique riverside character.

Catch artist Emma Louise Moore in action at Riverside Gardens over the next 2 weeks as she carefully shapes the granite.

A celebration of art, craft, and place!
